Limited Capacity seats available

This workshop will cover areas of project-based learning that are often thorny and difficult, offering participants ieas and resources along the way. The workshop will start with a close examination of an especially tricky but powerful element of PBL: student choice. Providing students with more choice and voice in project-based learning creates greater student buy-in, increases motivation, and enhances students’ decision-making skills. Participants will discover strategies for affording students greater choice in the way in which they demonstrate their learning through projects, thereby creating a more culturally responsive classroom. Next, participants will have an opportunity to explore other common pitfalls encountered in project-based learning. Through a stations activity built around some of the most common dilemmas, participants will use a variety of resources from International classrooms to collaboratively problem solve ways to keep projects going even when obstacles arrive.
